I’m Heather Rampolla. Chronic Creative. Can’t help it!
Me + a camera… we’ve been inseparable since childhood. FYI, I don’t ever remember being given a camera as a kid. I just claimed them as my own. Looking back as an adult I can’t believe my parents let me take soooo many photos. (The cost of film and prints… YIKES!)
I had built in models in the family too… my little sister… and my cat.
Here’s the truth… I’m way too comfortable BEHIND the camera.
Being IN FRONT of the camera feels awkward, I get it!!
But I have this infectious thing I just can’t seem to shake… facing my fears. If it scares me, I move towards it.
One of the scariest things I’ve faced…realizing that being an online entrepreneur required that **I** become the brand.
Becoming the face of my brand was one of those “oh F*CK” moments. Realizing that people where buying ME and that I was the product.
I had to get in front of the camera myself.
I went stiff when the camera pointed at me. What do I do? How do I move? I feel like such a dork!
Agony over the perfect outfit, makeup, and hair. (SECRET: with a really good photographer you don’t need to obsess about those three things.)
And then was the struggle of trying to communicate to the photographer how to take the photos I needed.
After going through multiple photographers I was left with:
- Overly edited photos that my family didn’t recognize as me.
- Images that were way too professional and stiff. Like they belonged in the annual report of my banking days.
Do you know how many times I explained to the photographers the importance of getting the angle right… you know, so it will fit on your webpage slider, or your Facebook cover. And to create some images with space so you can put words next to your face for graphics like Podcast cover art or Facebook ads.
No matter how many times I emphasized or drew it out for them they still couldn’t get it right.
Having the RIGHT image that conveys your true self is crucial to you connecting to your tribe and them getting to really see you … the real you.
From my frustration, I decided to help save others from this branding photography pain.
I love making the process of YOU getting in front of the camera non-intimidating and actually playful. I love getting to uncover + capture the essence of you…the beauty that only you can shine.
You have an important message to share, love!
I’m here to help you sing it from the rooftops.
xo,
-Heather
